These services are provided in the Bronson Office Only.  


Due Dates & Discounts

Your Birthday Renewal of motor vehicle license plate, which is valid until midnight of the owners birthday.  Renewals are accepted 90 days prior to birth month.  This applies to passenger cars, recreational vehicles, light trucks under 5000 lbs., boats, small trailers, and motorcycles.
January Receive 2% discount on payment of property taxes and/or tangible personal property taxes. Renew decals for mobile homes that are not assessed as Real Property by December  31.
February Receive 1% discount on payment of property taxes and/or tangible personal property taxes.
March Pay gross amount of property taxes due by March 31. Final (4th) Property Tax Installment Payment due by March 31.  Taxpayers currently enrolled in the Installment Payment do not need to reapply to continue the program.
April All unpaid real property taxes become delinquent April 1.  At this time a 3% penalty is added to the gross amount.  Within 45 days, delinquent real property taxes will be advertised in a local newspaper and the cost of advertising will be added to the delinquent bill. All unpaid tangible personal property taxes become delinquent April 1. At this time a 1.5% per month interest charge is added to the gross amount.  Within 45 days, delinquent tangible personal property taxes will be advertised in a local newspaper and the cost of advertising will be added to the delinquent bill.
May Tax Warrant processing on Delinquent Tangible Personal Property Taxes starts May 1. A List of  delinquent taxes is advertised in a local newspaper one time. The list of delinquent real estate taxes is advertised once per week for three consecutive weeks in a local newspaper, prior to the tax certificate sale. The Tax Certificate Sale date is set  in  March, prior to the Delinquency date of  April 1. 
Applications for next years property tax Installment Payment Plan is due by May 1.
June First Property Tax Installment Plan payment is due on or before   June 1.  If this payment is not remitted by June 30, participation in the program is cancelled.
September Second Property Tax Installment Plan Payment is due before September 30.
November Collection of property taxes and tangible personal property taxes begins.  Receive a 4% discount on payment if made by November 30 If bills are mail November 1st. If not mailed November 1st you will have 30 days from whatever date we mail bills. (Example if we mail November 8th you will have until December 8th to receive your 4% discount.)
December Receive a 3% discount on payment of property taxes and/or tangible personal property taxes. Third Property Tax Installment Plan Payment is due by December 31. Registration and renewal of trucks over 5000 pounds, truck-trailers, semi-trailers, and mobile homes due by December 31.
